Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how PowerScale (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our iOS app, Android app, website, and related services (“App”).

1. Summary

We collect information needed to run the App (such as account authentication, profile and library data, and social features), to improve reliability and security, and—where applicable—to show ads and process purchases. We use service providers (including Google and Firebase) to host and process data.

2. Information we collect

• Account and profile: email address (depending on sign-in method), display name/username, profile photo, bio, preferences, and settings.
• Library and activity: anime/manga lists, progress, rankings, achievements, Power, and similar app activity you choose to save.
• Social features: friends, discussions, messages, blocks, and notifications you send or receive through the App.
• Device and diagnostics: device type, OS version, app version, identifiers used for notifications and advertising (where permitted), and crash/diagnostic data (for example via Firebase Crashlytics).
• Purchases: Apple App Store or Google Play processes payments, where purchases are offered. We receive product identifiers, purchase tokens or transaction information, and subscription status needed to verify purchases and unlock features. PowerScale does not receive your full payment-card number.
• Public web voting: browser cookies identify a guest vote, and hashed network identifiers help limit abuse. A guest vote may contribute to a public community ranking. Hosting services also process connection information such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the website.
• Third-party sign-in: if you use Apple, Google, or similar providers, they share account identifiers according to their policies and your choices.

3. How we use information

We use information to: provide and personalize the App; sync your data across devices; operate social features; send notifications you opt into; measure engagement and improve features; maintain security; troubleshoot crashes; comply with law; and show ads or consent prompts where applicable.

4. Legal bases (EEA/UK users)

Where GDPR applies, we process data based on: performance of a contract (providing the App); legitimate interests (security, analytics, product improvement); consent (where required for ads or certain optional features); and legal obligations.

5. Sharing

We share information with service providers who assist us, including:
• Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore/Realtime data, Cloud Storage, Cloud Messaging, Remote Config, Functions, Analytics, Crashlytics, and related components as configured in the App)
• Google Mobile Ads and User Messaging Platform (ads and consent messaging, where applicable)
• Google Sign-In (if you choose that sign-in method)
• Cloudflare for website hosting, delivery, and protection
• Apple App Store and Google Play for purchases and purchase verification, where available
• Catalog/metadata providers (for example AniList) when the App requests media information
Your public profile, rankings, reviews, and discussion content may be visible to other users or on shareable web pages according to your privacy settings. Private messages are shared with their intended participants. We do not claim that advertising providers never use data for their own purposes; their policies and your consent choices govern their processing.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect rights and safety.

6. Data retention

We retain account data while your account is active and as needed to provide the Services. You can request deletion without installing or signing in to the App at https://powerscale.app/delete-account/ or by emailing soigne47@gmail.com. We verify ownership before deleting data and aim to complete verified requests within 30 days. Deletion covers your account/profile, saved library and progress, personal rankings and favorites, uploaded profile images, friend connections, and associated personal data. We remove or anonymize associated public contributions as appropriate. Limited records may be retained when required for legal, payment, fraud-prevention, or security obligations; we explain any applicable exception when responding to your request and retain those records only as long as needed for that obligation. De-identified community totals may remain. Store payment records are controlled by Apple or Google. Some locally cached data may remain on your device until you clear it or uninstall the App.

7. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

8. Your choices and rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Use Profile → Settings → Delete Account to delete your account directly in the App; no email or manual approval is required. You may be asked to sign in again for security. If you cannot access the App, follow https://powerscale.app/delete-account/ to request deletion by email without installing or signing in to the App. Reset All Data clears selected saved data and is not a substitute for deleting your account. You may also request deletion of particular data without closing your account by emailing soigne47@gmail.com. Control notifications in device settings and in-app preferences, and use the App’s advertising privacy choices to review consent where available. To exercise other privacy rights, contact us using the contact method described below.

9. Children

The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region). If you believe we have collected information from a child, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

10. International transfers

If you use the App outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate.

11. California privacy rights (summary)

California residents may have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including rights to know, delete, and opt out of certain sharing (where applicable). Contact us to submit a request.

12. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date when we do.
